Assoc. Professor Nwamaka Patricia Ibeme
Assoc. Prof. Nwamaka P. Ibeme (AIPMA-UK, ACIPM-UK, ACIPMN, ASPAR) a PhD holder in Public Administration and a Certified Human Resources Management practitioner as well as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Learning and Development and Open and Distance Learning (ODL), is the incumbent Head, department of Public Administration, National Open University of Nigeria, Abuja. Under her leadership the department of Public Administration has been recording huge success in academic, research and community services. Due to her diligent and astute leadership, all the programs offered by the department at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels received National Universities Commission (NUC) full accreditation/re-accreditation status.
She is the immediate past Coordinator of the South East Geopolitical zone of Nigeria Incubation Centre, under the Directorate of Entrepreneurship and General Studies, National Open University of Nigeria. Under her leadership at the South East Incubation Centre, students produced many creative and innovative products that won state and national awards
She is the head and Principal Researcher of Tetfund (IBR) Research Grants. The results of some of these researches have been published in reputable international journals with high impact factor.
She is a board member of the Association of Public Administration Researchers of Nigeria (ASPAR). She organized and played host to the very first virtual and physical conference of ASPAR held in the National Open University of Nigeria. She has headed and still heading many committees too numerous to list here.
She worked as Principal Manager, Human Resources Management in two reputable banks in Nigeria before venturing into academics.
She obtained her PhD in Public Administration with a specialty in Human Resources Management from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. She is a fellow, Public Administration Researchers of Nigeria (FASPAR), an Associate member, Chartered Personnel Management of Nigeria (ACIPM), member, Association of Female Academics in Higher Education Institutions in West Africa Sub- Region, member, International Professional Managers Association. (IPMA-UK), member, International Professional Manager (CIPM- UK), Licensed Human Resource Professional (HRPL).
She has published many research papers in both local and international journals. See Google Scholar. She is on the editorial board of the Faculty of Management Schiences, National Open University of Nigeria. She has supervised and still supervising many PhD thesis, Dissertations and B.Sc. honours projects.
She has won many awards one of which is an award of Excellence in Creativity and Innovation in the development of University Entrepreneurship Education and Open and Distance Learning (ODL).
