Dr. Kezia H. Mkwizu
Dr. Kezia H. Mkwizu holds a PhD in Tourism from The Open University of Tanzania (OUT). She was awarded a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in International Business from Schiller International University, London Campus, UK. Her Bachelors of Commerce with Education was awarded by The Open University of Tanzania. She has attended local and international conferences as a presenter, chair session, keynote speaker, moderator and editor of conference proceedings. Her collaborative research paper received Best Paper Award from the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) and the Academy for Global Business Advancement (AGBA). She attended the 20th General Assembly of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in Zambia and Zimbabwe (2013); and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) high level conference in Kenya (2016).
Her solo and collaborative research papers were accepted for presentation in the Professional Development Workshops (PDWs) at the 78th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management (AOM) in the USA. She has published in conferences, journals, monograph book and book chapters. She reviews book chapters and also a reviewer for international peer-reviewed journals. She was awarded the Emerald Awards 2023 Literati as an Outstanding Reviewer and recognized as an outstanding reviewer by Midwest Academy of Management (MAM) in the USA from 2021 to 2023. She mentors PhD students in Tanzania, and internationally (Botswana, Ethiopia, Kenya, Liberia, Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda and USA). She was part of the group that won the best research concept proposal at the ASFI 2023 Virtual Conference and Boot Camp. On 5th March 2024, she was invited and participated in a Doctoral Committee for the Education Department at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) in South Africa
In 2008 and 2012, she trekked the highest mountain in Africa famously known as Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. She has 9 travel books on Scenic Tanzania accessible on Amazon. She has visited various countries such as Belgium, Botswana, Denmark, Germany, Israel, Italy, Kenya, Norway, Palestine, Rwanda, Spain, Sweden, UAE, Uganda, UK, USA, Zambia and Zimbabwe. She successfully completed her Postdoctoral Scholar under the Directorate of Research, Publication and Innovation (DPRI) at The Open University of Tanzania, in Tanzania. Her research interest areas are in Tourism and Marketing but not limited to these areas. She also trains on topics of customer care/services, communication skills, empathy, and emotional intelligence. She is currently an Independent Researcher, Trainer and Consultant
